Discover the exclusive wines from the Hungarian winery Tűzkő Birtok in our range. We present these traditional vintages for your special moments of enjoyment. These wines combine centuries of history with state-of-the-art cellar technology at the highest level.

The historical origin of Tűzkő Birtok

The traditional estate is located in the idyllic village of Bátaapáti, in the midst of the Hungarian hilly landscape. The proud history of this house began back in 1799. For a long time, the development of these special vineyards was shaped by the influence of the noble Apponyi family. Today, the estate benefits from a close partnership with the world‑renowned winery Marchesi Antinori. A historic cellar from the eighteenth century has been providing optimal conditions for wine maturation for over three hundred years. We value the deep roots in regional culture in every single bottle.

Tuzko Terroir

Regional characteristics of Tűzkő Birtok

The vineyards extend over a large area of a total of one hundred and seventy hectares in the Tolna wine-growing region. The vines thrive at an average altitude of around two hundred meters above sea level. The local microclimate benefits greatly from the surrounding cool forests and the shimmering lakes in the area. The average temperature here is about two degrees lower than in the rest of the region. This cool environment preserves the lively freshness and delicate aromas in the ripening grapes. The soil owes its name to the flint and gives the wines a distinctive mineral character.

Things to know about Tüzkö (Antinori)
What role does the Italian Antinori family play?
Since the early 1990s, there has been a close partnership with the world-famous Italian winery Marchesi Antinori. This cooperation combines centuries-old Hungarian tradition with state-of-the-art international cellar technology and expertise.
What is behind the name “Tűzkő”?
The name “Tűzkő” translates as flint. This is a reference to the soil composition of the region; the flint in the soil stores heat and gives the wines (especially the white wines) a distinctive mineral note.
