Winery Dönnhoff - The story begins in Oberhausen...

... on the Nahe. Because with this beautiful spot the winery Dönnhoff is anchored for a long time - over 250 years. An extremely charming valley between Niederhausen and Schloßböckelheim. The foundation stone for the Dönnhoff Winery was laid by grandfather Helmut Dönnhoff. He concentrated fully on the cultivation of Rieslings in top vineyards. His son Hermann Jr. also lent a hand - he cultivated the Oberhäuser Brücke site and built the wine press house and the first cellars for the Dönnhoff winery.

in 1953, the Dönnhoff Winery was awarded the State Honor Prize for its exceptional viticultural achievements.

Taking international steps

The foundation for the international success was laid by the grandson, Helmut Dönnhoff. With his consistent style and outstanding quality, he shaped the reputation of great German Rieslings worldwide with the Dönnhoff wines

Vineyards

On the 28 hectares of Dönnhoff vineyards, 80% Riesling and 20% Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris are cultivated. The vines have an age of 15 - 65 years and grow on red sandstone, slate weathering and volcanic weathering (porphyry and melaphyre).
