The Hörner winery from the Palatinate region of Germany

Hörner apparently likes to bump the very same. Instead of the typical leading variety Riesling, the Burgundy varieties are in the foreground for him. Traditional practices give way to contemporary and natural approaches. With the renunciation of herbicides and insecticides as well as manual work from the loess-loam vineyard to the cellar, old-established wines are transformed into fresh, fine and diverse wines of top quality. At least that is what wine experts from Fallstaff, Vinum and Meininger attest. Of course, youth is often said to be impetuous and impulsive, but in Thomas Hörner's case, his aspirations are sometimes based on his training with exquisite masters.
The grape does not fall far from the tree
As the son of a winegrowing family, it was not far from his mind to enter the winegrowing business. Early on, under the wing of a father Reinhold Hörner, the young Hörner helped the family business as cellar master at the Hainbachhof in Hochstadt. But soon the wide world of wine was calling him. Apprenticeship years at the Knipser winery and the Münzberg winery provided a good and complete education in solid winemaking. Thomas Hörner learned no less during his stays in Burgundy or the Wachau - regions that are not exactly unknown for their fine wines. No sooner had he returned home than he founded his own winery, which he runs together with his father. Today, Thomas Hörner and his Hörner Winery are considered one of the best addresses for crisp and fresh Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir as well as Gelber Muskateller or Sauvignon Blanc wines.

The wines of the Hörner Winery
In accordance with its self-chosen identity, the wine lines of Weingut Hörner bear the names Taurus, Capricorn and Aries. Each line represents its own distinctive style.
- Taurus: the entry-level style, ideal for every day. Serene, animating and straightforward.
- Capricorn: wines with a strong varietal orientation. Acidic, elegant and characterized by fine fruit.
- Aries: complex and bold wines fermented in the oak compartment from the best plots, intended for longer aging.
