More information about Widder Sauvignon Blanc Fumé - Weingut Hörner
The Widder Sauvignon Blanc from the hand of Weingut Hörner in the Palatinate offers a bright, pale yellow color when swirled in the glass. On the nose, this white wine from Weingut Hörner reveals all kinds of pineapple, grapefruit, and passion fruit. As if that weren’t already impressive, further aromas such as kiwi, toasted wood, and green grass join in thanks to maturation in small wooden barrels.
This white wine from Weingut Hörner is just the thing for wine lovers who can’t get their wine dry enough. Widder Sauvignon Blanc comes very close to that, having been vinified with just 1.5 grams of residual sugar. Balanced and multi-layered, this silky and dense white wine presents itself on the palate. Thanks to its distinctive fruit acidity, Widder Sauvignon Blanc appears exceptionally fresh and lively on the palate. On the finish, this wine from the Palatinate wine-growing region, which has very good aging potential, finally delights with exceptional length. Once again, nuances of pineapple and passion fruit appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes from the loess and clay-dominated soils join in.
Vinification of Widder Sauvignon Blanc from Weingut Hörner
The balanced Widder Sauvignon Blanc from Germany is a varietal wine, vegan-vinified from the Sauvignon Blanc grape. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in the Palatinate. Here, the vines drive their roots deep into soils of clay and loess. When perfect physiological ripeness is ensured, the grapes for Widder Sauvignon Blanc are harvested exclusively by hand, without the help of coarse and barely selective machines. After harvesting, the grapes are brought to the press house immediately. There they are selected and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in small wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. After fermentation is complete, the vegan Widder Sauvignon Blanc is aged for several more months in French oak barrels.
