More information about Steinbock Gelber Muskateller - Weingut Hörner
The Steinbock Gelber Muskateller from Weingut Hörner in the Pfalz reveals a brilliant, golden-yellow color when swirled in the glass. On the nose, this Weingut Hörner white wine presents all kinds of lychees, lemons, and elderflower. As if that were not already impressive, further aromas such as nutmeg are added through stainless steel maturation.
Weingut Hörner’s Steinbock Gelber Muskateller tastes pleasantly dry. It was bottled with 7.8 grams of residual sugar. This is a genuine quality wine that clearly stands out from simpler qualities and thus, despite all its dryness, this German wine delights with the finest balance. Aroma does not necessarily need residual sugar. On the palate, the texture of this light-footed white wine is wonderfully light and silky. Thanks to its present acidity, Steinbock Gelber Muskateller appears wonderfully fresh and lively on the palate. On the finish, this white wine from the wine-growing region of the Pfalz finally impresses with considerable length. Once again, hints of lychee and elderflower appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes from the loess and clay-dominated soils join in.
Vinification of the Steinbock Gelber Muskateller from Weingut Hörner
This wine clearly focuses on a single grape variety, namely Gelber Muskateller. Only first-class harvested grapes were used for this wonderfully elegant varietal wine from Weingut Hörner. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in the Pfalz. Here the vines drive their roots deep into soils of clay and loess. The grapes for this German white wine are harvested particularly quickly and preferably in the morning when they are perfectly ripe, in order to preserve their freshness. After hand-picking, the grapes are quickly taken to the winery. There they are sorted and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the wine matures for a few months on the fine lees before it is finally bottled.
