More information about Acrux Colchagua Valley - Sutil Family Wines

The elegant Acrux Colchagua Valley from Sutil Family Wines flows into the glass with a bright purple-red color. Poured into a Bordeaux glass, this red wine from Chile displays wonderfully complex aromas of blackberry, rounded off by eucalyptus, mint/melissa, and walnut contributed by the barrel aging.

The Sutil Family Wines Acrux Colchagua Valley tastes pleasantly dry. It was bottled with 2.8 grams of residual sugar. This is a genuine quality wine that clearly stands out from simpler qualities and thus this Chilean, despite all its dryness, delights with the finest balance. Aroma does not necessarily require residual sugar. On the palate, this well-balanced red wine is characterized by an immensely velvety texture. Thanks to the moderate acidity, the Acrux Colchagua Valley caresses the mouth with a silky feel without lacking freshness. On the finish, this wine from the Valle Central wine-growing region ultimately impresses with remarkable length. Once again, hints of blackberry emerge.

Vinification of the Acrux Colchagua Valley from Sutil Family Wines

This balanced red wine from Chile is a cuvée made from the grape varieties Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenère, Merlot, and Petit Verdot. Once perfect physiological ripeness is ensured, the grapes for the Acrux Colchagua Valley are harvested exclusively by hand, without the use of rough and less selective machinery. After the harvest, the grapes are swiftly brought to the winery, where they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in small wooden vats at controlled temperatures. After fermentation is complete, the elegant Acrux Colchagua Valley is aged for a further 24 months in barriques made of French and American oak. This is followed by extensive bottle aging, which makes this red wine even more complex.

Food pairing recommendation for Sutil Family Wines Acrux Colchagua Valley

This red wine from Chile is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15–18°C. It pairs perfectly as an accompanying wine with leek soup, boeuf bourguignon, or potato pan with salmon.
