At the rims there is also a color transition into garnet red. The first nose of the Ariats kes Kakhani Areni flatters with nuances of sour cherries and plums. Notes from barrel aging, such as blackcurrant, join the fruity hints of the bouquet.

Vinification of Ariats kes Kakhani Areni from Gevorkian Winery
The basis for the powerful Ariats kes Kakhani Areni from Vayots Dzor is grapes of the Areni variety. After the grape harvest, the grapes are immediately brought to the press house. There they are selected and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in large wooden casks at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by maturation on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally drawn off.
