More information about Bellmunt Tinto DOCa - Mas d'en Gil
The Bellmunt Tinto of Mas d'en Gil is vinified from the grape varieties Grenache (60%), Cariñena (30%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (10%) in the Spanish growing region of Priorat.
In the glass, this wine shows an intense medium cherry red color. The expressive, intense and at the same time pleasant bouquet is dominated by ripe fruit aromas (blackcurrant, blueberry) and fine wood and sweet spicy notes (coffee, chocolate) to which later join balsamic notes of rosemary. On the palate, this Spanish red wine is silky smooth and elegant with a full body. The fresh acidity, tremendous melt and polished, ripe tannins are beautifully balanced. The flavors of fruit and balsamic notes flow into a long-lasting finish.
Vinification of the Bellmunt Tinto Mas d'en Gil
The hand-harvested, fully ripe grapes from Viticultors Mas d'en Gil are first destemmed, crushed and the resulting must is fermented under temperature control in stainless steel and concrete tanks. Afterwards, the mash is pressed and this wine is first aged for 10 months in French oak barrels.
