The winery Boekenhoutskloof was founded in 1776 and is picturesquely situated in the very back corner of the Franschhoek Valley.

A little story from the Franschhoek Valley
The name of the winery translates as “Gorge of the Boekenhout.” Boekenhout is a beech native to South Africa that is highly valued in furniture making.
In 1997, Boekenhoutskloof was completely restored and the vineyards were replanted with Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Grenache, Semillon and Viognier.
