More information about Bordeaux Supèrieur AOP 1,5l Magnum - Château La Croix Calendreau
The Bordeaux Supèrieur 1.5l Magnum from the Bordeaux wine-growing region presents itself in the glass in a bright purple-red. At the rim, this French red also shows a transition into garnet red. After the first swirl, this red wine reveals an excellent balance, as it neither appears watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like on the glass walls. On the nose, this Château La Croix Calendreau red wine presents all kinds of red currant, raspberries, strawberries and sour cherries.
The Château La Croix Calendreau Bordeaux Supèrieur 1.5l Magnum presents itself wonderfully dry to the wine lover. This red wine never appears coarse or meager, as one might expect from a wine in the icon-wine segment. Balanced and multi-layered, this velvety red wine appears on the palate. On the finish, this matured red wine from the Bordeaux wine-growing region delights with considerable length. Once again, hints of strawberry and red currant appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes from the clay-dominated soils join in.
Vinification of the Bordeaux Supèrieur 1.5l Magnum from Château La Croix Calendreau
This balanced red wine from France is vinified from the Merlot grape variety. In Bordeaux, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on clay soils. Without question, the Bordeaux Supèrieur 1.5l Magnum is defined by more than just the Bordeaux Supérieur terroir. This French wine can quite literally be described as an Old World wine that presents itself in an exceptionally impressive way. The wine berries for this red wine from France are harvested particularly quickly and at the coolest possible time of day at optimal ripeness, in order to preserve their aromas. After the harvest, the grapes are brought quickly to the press house. There they are selected and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by several months of aging on the fine lees before the wine is finally bottled.
