More information about Cabernet Merlot - Philibert du Charme

Cabernet Merlot from the wine-growing region of Languedoc presents itself in the glass in dense purple. The bouquet of this red wine from Languedoc enchants with aromas of blueberry, mulberry, blackberry and black currant. If we trace the aromatics further, cinnamon, cigar box and toasted barrique come into play.

This dry red wine from Philibert du Charme is ideal for people who like it absolutely dry. The Cabernet Merlot already comes pretty close to that, having been vinified with just 3.3 grams of residual sugar. On the tongue, this powerful red wine is characterized by an incredibly dense texture. Due to its lively fruit acidity, the Cabernet Merlot is fantastically fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this red wine from the Languedoc wine-growing region finally inspires with good length. There are again hints of mulberry and blackberry. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the limestone and clay dominated soils are added.

Vinification of the Philibert du Charme Cabernet Merlot

Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes are the starting point for this first-class and wonderfully powerful cuvée from Philibert du Charme. In Languedoc, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of clay and limestone. After the hand harvest, the grapes immediately reach the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Then fermentation takes place at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging for several months.

Food recommendation for Philibert du Charme Cabernet Merlot

This French wine is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15 - 18°C. It is perfect as an accompaniment to pumpkin casserole, lamb stew with chickpeas and dried figs, or braised chicken in red wine.
