Cava Brut Reserva - Vilarnau

The Cava Brut Reserva of Vilarnau from Catalonia presents a brilliant, pale yellow color in the swirled glass. The bubbles of this Cava shine in the glass consistently and finely. This Spanish cuvée displays delightfully fragrant notes of pink grapefruit, kumquats, lemons and limes in the glass. These are joined by hints of other fruits.

The Cava Brut Reserva reveals itself to be particularly melting and dense on the palate due to its pleasant residual sweetness of 10.5 grams per liter. This wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with only 10.5 grams of residual sugar. This is a real quality wine, which clearly stands out from simpler qualities and so this Spaniard enchants naturally with all dryness with the finest balance. Excellent taste does not necessarily need a lot of sugar. On the palate, the texture of this light-footed sparkling wine is wonderfully melting and dense. The fruit acidity of the Cava Brut Reserva is strikingly rounded and makes this wine wonderfully smooth. In the finish, this wine from the wine-growing region of Catalonia finally inspires with considerable length. Again, hints of orange and grapefruit show up.

Vinification of the Vilarnau Cava Brut Reserva

The basis for the elegant Cava Brut Reserva from Catalonia are grapes from the grape varieties Parellada, Viura and Xarel-lo. The berries for this sparkling wine from Spain, after ensuring optimal ripeness, are harvested exclusively by hand . Following the harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully ground. Now follows the fermentation of the base wines. After the cuvée has been put together, further aging follows on the basis of classic bottle fermentation. This is followed by bottle aging for 18 months.

Food recommendation for the Cava Brut Reserva from Vilarnau

This Spanish sparkling wine is best enjoyed very well chilled at 5 - 7°C. It is perfect as an accompanying wine to stir-fried vegetables with fish, yogurt mousse with poppy seeds or fruity endive salad.
