More information about Chateau Portal - Herpe Paul
The Chateau Portal from the hand of Herpe Paul from Languedoc-Roussillon offers a dense, purple-red color in a swirled glass. Poured into a red wine glass, this Old World red wine displays wonderfully expressive aromas of violets and raspberry, rounded off by further fruity nuances.
Herpe Paul Chateau Portal presents itself wonderfully dry to the wine lover. This red wine never appears coarse or lean, as one might expect from a wine. Powerful and complex, this fleshy and silky red wine presents itself on the palate. On the finish, this wine from the Languedoc-Roussillon wine-growing region delights with beautiful length. Once again, hints of raspberry and violet appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes from the limestone- and clay-dominated soils join in.
Vinification of Herpe Paul Chateau Portal
The powerful Chateau Portal from France is a cuvée, vinified from the grape varieties Carignan, Grenache and Syrah. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Languedoc-Roussillon. Here the vines sink their roots deep into soils of clay and limestone. After harvesting, the grapes are brought to the press house immediately. There they are selected and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by maturation for several months on the fine lees before the wine is finally bottled.
