With Château La Nerthe Châteauneuf Cuvee des Cadettes, a first-class red wine finds its way into the glass. It presents a wonderfully dense, purple-red color. After the first swirl, this red wine reveals great density and richness, which shows in pronounced church windows on the rim of the glass. On the nose, this Château La Nerthe red wine presents all kinds of blueberry, blackberry, plum, and currant. As if that weren’t already impressive, maturation in large wooden casks adds cinnamon, black cherry, and cloves.
This French wine captivates with its elegantly dry flavor profile. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. As you would expect from an icon wine in this segment, this French wine delights, despite all its dryness, with the finest balance. Aroma does not necessarily require residual sugar. On the palate, this powerful red wine is characterized by an incredibly velvety texture. The finish of this red wine from the Rhône region finally impresses with a lovely aftertaste.
Vinification of Châteauneuf Cuvee des Cadettes by Château La Nerthe
The foundation for the powerful Châteauneuf Cuvee des Cadettes from the Rhône consists of grapes from the Grenache Noir, Mourvèdre, and Syrah varieties. Châteauneuf Cuvee des Cadettes is a thoroughly Old World wine, as this French wine exudes an exceptional European charm that clearly underscores the success of wines from the Old World. After the harvest, the grapes are brought immediately to the winery. There they are selected and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in large wooden vats at controlled temperatures. After fermentation is complete, the powerful Châteauneuf Cuvee des Cadettes is aged for another 12 months in French oak barrels.
