More information about Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf du Pape AOC - Perrin & Fils

The Château de Beaucastel from Perrin & Fils, from the French wine-growing region AOC Châteauneuf-du-Pape in the southern Rhône Valley, is an excellent, expressive and elegant premium red wine cuvée, vinified from the grape varieties Mourvèdre, Grenache, Syrah, Counoise and other authorised red varieties.

In the glass, this wine shimmers a deep Bordeaux red with rich cherry-red highlights. The wonderfully elegant nose reveals an intense bouquet of ripe cherries, blackcurrants and floral notes of violets, aromatic herbs (bay leaf), a hint of spices and the finest nuances of chocolate.

On the palate, this French red wine impresses with its incredibly elegant character. The tannins are ripe and fine, with a beautifully dense and concentrated structure. This perfectly underscores the seductively velvety texture, which is enhanced by subtly spicy fruit. The finish is wonderfully long, sustained by elegant and well-wrapped tannins and the unforgettable interplay of aromas of fruit, spices and floral notes.

Vinification of Perrin & Fils Château de Beaucastel

In beautiful Châteauneuf-du-Pape (located between Orange and Avignon) lies Château de Beaucastel with its 70 hectares of vineyards. The soils present on the surface rolled pebbles, with deeper-lying sand, clay and limestone.

Each grape variety is harvested separately and carefully by hand. Vinification takes place in oak fermenters for the reductive varieties (Mourvèdre, Syrah) and in traditional enamelled concrete tanks for the oxidative grapes (all other varieties). After completion of malolactic fermentation, Famille Perrin blends the different varieties. Finally, this French red wine ages for 12 months in oak foudres before the cuvée is bottled.

Food recommendation for Château de Beaucastel

This dry red wine from France pairs particularly well with dark meat dishes, hearty game dishes or mushroom dishes. We recommend that you decant this cuvée for at least 1 hour before enjoying.
