On the palate, the Châteauneuf-Du-Pape Cuvée Tradition from Domaine De Pignan starts off pleasantly aromatic, fruit-driven, and well-balanced. Some wines are dry on the label, others truly are. This red wine belongs to the second group, as it was vinified with just 0.6 g of residual sugar. On the palate, the texture of this powerful red wine presents itself as wonderfully dense. Thanks to its lively acidity, the Châteauneuf-Du-Pape Cuvée Tradition appears impressively fresh and vibrant on the palate. On the finish, this very age-worthy red wine from the Rhône Valley winegrowing region delights with a lovely length. Once again, hints of raspberry appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes from the clay- and limestone-dominated soils join in.
Vinification of Domaine De Pignan Châteauneuf-Du-Pape Cuvée Tradition
The powerful Châteauneuf-Du-Pape Cuvée Tradition from France is a cuvée made from the grape varieties Cinsault, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Muscardin, Syrah, and Vaccarèse. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in the Rhône Valley. Here, the vines drive their roots deep into soils composed of limestone and clay. After the harvest, the grapes are brought to the winery as quickly as possible. There they are sorted and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures.
