Chinuri - Winery Guramishvilis Marani

The elegant Chinuri from the winery Guramishvilis Marani splashes into the glass in a bright light yellow. In the glass it caresses the nose with wonderfully expressive notes of mirabelle plum, peach, apple and pear. Hints of other fruits are also present.

On the palate, the Chinuri from Winery Guramishvilis Marani starts off delightfully aromatic, fruit-driven and balanced. There is dry and there is really dry. This white wine belongs to the second group, as it was bottled with just 2 g of residual sugar. On the tongue, this well-balanced white wine is characterized by an extraordinarily velvety texture. On the finish, this wine from the Kakheti wine-growing region, which has good aging potential, finally delights with considerable length. Again, nuances of lilac and green apple appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes from the soils dominated by black earth and volcanic rock join in. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Kakheti. Here, the vines drive their roots deep into soils of volcanic rock and black earth. After harvesting, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. There they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After fermentation is complete, the Chinuri can continue to harmonize on the fine lees for several months.

This white wine from Georgia is best enjoyed well chilled at 8–10°C. It pairs perfectly as an accompanying wine with spaghetti with yogurt-mint pesto, fruity endive salad or asparagus salad with quinoa.
