The finish of this well-aging red wine from the New Zealand winegrowing region North Island, more precisely from Waipara, finally delights with a remarkable length.

Vinification of the Crimson Pinot Noir from Ata Rangi

The powerful Crimson Pinot Noir from New Zealand is a varietal wine made from the Pinot Noir grape. At optimal ripeness, the grapes for the Crimson Pinot Noir are harvested exclusively by hand, without the use of rough and less selective mechanical harvesters. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly brought to the winery, where they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in small oak barrels at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the wine is aged for 10 months in French oak barriques.

This red wine from New Zealand is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15–18°C. It pairs perfectly as an accompaniment to boiled veal topside with beans and tomatoes, goose breast with ginger red cabbage and marjoram, or ossobuco.
