More information about Cru Bourgeois Haut-Médoc - Château Fontesteau Médoc
The Cru Bourgeois Haut-Médoc from Château Fontesteau Médoc in Bordeaux displays a bright, purple-red color in the glass. At the rim there is also a transition in color towards garnet red. If you give it a bit of air in the glass by swirling, you can perceive an excellent balance in this red wine, as it does not appear watery, nor syrupy or liqueur-like on the glass walls. On the nose, this Château Fontesteau Médoc red wine reveals all kinds of blackberries. As if that were not impressive enough, further aromas such as blackcurrant and chocolate are added thanks to maturation in small wooden barrels.
This wine tastes pleasantly dry. It was bottled with 5.3 grams of residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine in this price range, this Frenchman delights, despite all its dryness, with the finest balance. Aroma does not necessarily require a lot of sugar. Balanced and multi-faceted, this dense red wine presents itself on the palate. Thanks to its distinctive acidity, the Cru Bourgeois Haut-Médoc appears wonderfully fresh and lively on the palate. On the finish, this matured wine from the Bordeaux region finally thrills with beautiful length. Hints of blackberry appear once again. In the aftertaste, mineral notes from the limestone-dominated soils are also added.
Vinification of Château Fontesteau Médoc Cru Bourgeois Haut-Médoc
The well-balanced Cru Bourgeois Haut-Médoc from France is a cuvée made from the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. In Bordeaux, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on limestone soils. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are brought to the winery without delay. There they are selected and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in small wooden barrels at controlled temperatures.
