More information about Veraton Garnacha Campo de Borja - Alto Moncayo

In an intense garnet red, the Alto Moncayo Veraton Garnacha from the DO Campo de Borja appears. The nose is treated to intense notes of morello cherry, ripe red fruit and a hint of smoked ham. Other red and black fruits and an earthy mineral notes delight the nose.

The Alto Moncayo Veraton's palate is impressively dominated by ripe strawberry, cherry and some plum flavors. The wonderful density and pleasant acidity make this top red wine from the northeast of Spain a real treat. The finish is carried by velvety tannins. The finish once again brings out red fruits.

Vinification of the Veraton from Alto Moncayo

The Australian Chris Ringland and the American wine merchant Dan Phillips searched for a long time for suitable Garnacha vines for their dream wine. In the Campo de Borja region in northeastern Spain, the two finally found what they were looking for. Here they created an ingenious wine from up to 100-year-old Garnacha vines. The Veraton matures in French and American oak barriques and gets a full 16 months.
