More information about Grüner Veltliner Federspiel Axpoint - Gritsch

The light-footed Grüner Veltliner Federspiel Axpoint from the house Gritsch comes with brilliant platinum yellow in the glass. The nose of this Gritsch white wine shows all sorts of grapefruit, lemongrass, lemon, pomelo and orange. As if that wasn't already impressive, the stainless steel aging adds forest floor, sun-warmed rock and juniper.

This white from Gritsch is the right wine for all wine lovers who like it dry. However, it never appears sparse or brittle, as one might naturally expect from a wine. On the tongue, this light-footed white wine is characterized by an incredibly light and crisp texture. In the finish, this storable white wine from the wine-growing region of Lower Austria finally inspires with good length. Once again, hints of lemon and lemongrass appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the soils dominated by loess and sand join in.

Vinification of the Gritsch Grüner Veltliner Federspiel Axpoint

This white wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, namely Grüner Veltliner. Only the best grapes were used for this exceptionally elegant single-varietal wine from Gritsch. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Lower Austria. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into soils of clay, sand and loess. After harvesting, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. The fermentation is followed by a few months of aging on the fine lees before the wine is finally drawn into bottles.

Food recommendation for the Gritsch Grüner Veltliner Federspiel Axpoint

This Austrian white wine is best enjoyed well chilled at 8 - 10°C. It is perfect as an accompanying wine to potato pan with salmon, pumpkin casserole or pasta with sausage dumplings.
