The La Justice Gevrey-Chambertin from Domaine De La Vougeraie in Burgundy reveals a bright, light-red color when swirled in the glass. If you give it some air in the glass by swirling, you can perceive a perfect balance in this red wine, since it neither appears watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like on the sides of the glass. The first nose of the La Justice Gevrey-Chambertin shows notes of sour cherries and plums. The fruity hints of the bouquet are joined by aromas from barrel aging, such as additional fruity-balsamic nuances.
Domaine De La Vougeraie’s La Justice Gevrey-Chambertin delights with its elegantly dry flavor profile. It was bottled with only 0.1 grams of residual sugar. As you would expect from an icon wine in this segment, this French wine, despite all its dryness, enchants with the finest balance. Aroma does not necessarily require sugar. On the palate, the texture of this well-balanced red wine presents itself as wonderfully velvety. Thanks to the moderate acidity, the La Justice Gevrey-Chambertin caresses the palate with a velvety mouthfeel, without lacking freshness at the same time. On the finish, this youthful red wine from the Burgundy wine-growing region ultimately impresses with considerable length. Once again, hints of sour cherry and plum appear.
Vinification of Domaine De La Vougeraie La Justice Gevrey-Chambertin
This red wine clearly focuses on a single grape variety, namely Pinot Noir. For this exceptionally well-balanced varietal wine from Domaine De La Vougeraie, only immaculate grapes were used.
