More information about Margaux Cru Bourgeois - Château Labégorce
In the glass, the Margaux Cru Bourgeois from Château Labégorce shows a dense ruby color. If you give it some air in the glass by swirling, this red wine reveals a high viscosity, which shows in strong church windows at the edge of the glass. To the nose, this Château Labégorce red wine presents all sorts of blackberries and raspberries. As if that were not already impressive, other aromas such as anise and blueberry join in due to the aging in small wooden barrels.
This wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine Icon wine segment, this Frenchman naturally enchants with the finest balance despite all dryness. Aroma does not necessarily require residual sugar. On the tongue, this powerful red wine is characterized by an incredibly velvety texture. In the finish, this red wine from the wine-growing region of Bordeaux finally inspires with considerable length. Again, hints of blackberry and raspberry appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the soils dominated by clay and gravel are added.
Vinification of Château Labégorce Margaux Cru Bourgeois
Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot grapes are the starting point for Château Labégorce's first-class and wonderfully powerful Margaux Cru Bourgeois cuvée. The grapes grow in optimal conditions in Bordeaux. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of clay and gravel. Margaux Cru Bourgeois is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this Frenchman exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. The berries for this red wine from France, after ensuring optimal ripeness, are harvested exclusively by hand. After the hand harvest, the grapes immediately enter the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully ground. This is followed by fermentation in small wood at controlled temperatures. After the completion of fermentation, the powerful Margaux Cru Bourgeois is aged for another 12 months in French oak barriques.
