Catalan flair in California
Marimar Torres, the highly talented sister of Miguel Torres, has been producing high-quality Chardonnay and Pinot Noir wines in California since the mid-1980s. She has two vineyards there. Don Miguel, named after her father, covers about 33 hectares and is located in the comparatively cool Russian River Valley. The Doña Margarita site, named after her mother, is in the Sonoma Coast Appellation.

The climate - the grape varieties
The extended ripening times due to the cool Pacific climate allow the grapes to develop their full, intense flavors in complete tranquility. The vines' high planting density of nearly 5,000 vines/ha (about four times more than is typical in California) reduces yields, promoting significantly increased concentration of flavors and affecting the wines' sophistication, elegance and balance. The vines are planted on grapevine rootstocks resistant to phylloxera and are farmed organically. Since 2006, Marimar has even begun using biodynamic farming methods to manage ecologically healthy vineyards and produce higher quality grapes. Marimar Estate vinifies exclusively:
- Pinot Noir
- Chardonnay
