More information about La Masía Chardonnay - Marimar Estate

In the glass, the La Masía Chardonnay from Marimar Estate presents a dense golden-yellow color. Swirling the glass reveals this white wine’s high viscosity, visible in pronounced church windows on the glass rim. Poured into a white wine goblet, this white wine from the USA offers wonderfully fragrant and complex aromas of orange blossom, vineyard peach, honeysuckle, and kumquat, rounded off by cream caramel, cigar box, and toasted barrique contributed by barrel aging.

On the palate, the La Masía Chardonnay from Marimar Estate opens wonderfully dry, firm, and aromatic. Powerful and multi-layered, this creamy and fleshy white wine presents itself on the palate. On the finish, this long-lived wine from the California wine-growing region delights with remarkable length. Nuances of cherry blossom and orange reappear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes join in, derived from the clay- and volcanic-rock-dominated soils.

Vinification of the La Masía Chardonnay from Marimar Estate

This wine clearly focuses on a single grape variety, namely Chardonnay. Only immaculate grapes were harvested for this exceptionally powerful varietal wine from Marimar Estate. In California, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of clay, sand, and volcanic rock. At optimal ripeness, the grapes for the La Masía Chardonnay are harvested exclusively by hand, without the help of coarse, indiscriminate machinery. After harvesting, the grapes are quickly brought to the winery, where they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in small oak barrels at controlled temperatures. After fermentation is complete, the La Masía Chardonnay is matured for another 10 months in oak barrels.

Food recommendation for the La Masía Chardonnay from Marimar Estate

Enjoy this white wine from the USA ideally well-chilled at 8–10°C as an accompaniment to chickpea curry, spring rolls with minced meat filling, or omelet with salmon and fennel.
