More information about Marsanne Pays d'Oc - Les Jamelles
Les Jamelles Marsanne is a versatile, varietal and aromatic white wine from the French wine-growing region of Languedoc-Roussillon.
In the glass, this wine has a delicate straw yellow color with sparkling reflections. The nose enjoys a fine aromatic bouquet. Aromas of peach and apricot jam are revealed, complemented by multilayered floral notes. In addition to white flowers (daisy, acacia flower, white deadnettle, lily), nuances of red flowers (rose) are also present. The floral-fruity scent is rounded off by tea tree, lime and some honey. On the palate, this French white wine is very balanced with a round, rich body. The little acidity tends to linger in the background. The finish is accompanied by aromas of honey and caramel.
Vinification of the Les Jamelles Marsanne
Marsanne is one of the old, forgotten and unrecognized grape varieties. Therefore, Les Jamelles has created the line Cepage Rare to revive these grape varieties. The grapes for this white wine come from vineyards in the Hérault Valley and from slopes in the Aude Valley.
After the harvest of the Marsanne grapes, the grapes are immediately taken to the cellar of Les Jamelles. There, this wine is vinified in the classic way. First, the alcoholic fermentation takes place at controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks. Then this wine rounds off harmoniously for a few months in the tanks.
