More information about Moulin de Duhart Pauillac AOC - Château Duhart-Milon-Rothschild
The Moulin de Duhart of Château Duhart-Milon-Rothschild from the French wine-growing region of Pauillac in Bordeaux is a complex, expressive and multilayered red wine cuvée, which is vinified from the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
This wine shines in a rich and intense ruby red in the glass. On the expressive bouquet, this red wine presents opulent aromas of black currants and blackberries. On the palate, one senses a medium body with fine-grained tannins. Nuances of cassis, dark wild berries and plum complement it. A very complex and layered wine with great density and extract. The very pleasant and long-lasting finish shows the great elegance and already promises much pleasure.
The name of the wine comes from an old mill that once stood in the Carruades plain bordering the estate.
Vinification of the Moulin de Duhart
For this second wine from Château Duhart-Millon, base wines are blended that were not selected for the Grand Vin. Mostly these come from the younger vines of the vineyards. The grapes are harvested by hand in several passes. After destemming, the must is slowly fermented on the skins in stainless steel tanks. After fermentation is complete, Moulin de Duhart is aged for 10 months in 2-year-old wooden barrels.
