More information about Mukuzani - Winery Chateau Nekresi

With Winery Chateau Nekresi Mukuzani, a first-class red wine finds its way into the glass. There it reveals a wonderfully bright, ruby-red color. Poured into a red wine glass, this red wine from Georgia displays wonderfully expressive aromas of plum and pomegranate, rounded off by further fruity nuances.

Winery Chateau Nekresi Mukuzani presents itself to the wine enthusiast as pleasantly dry. This red wine never comes across as rough or austere, as one might expect from a wine. Balanced and complex, this velvety red wine shows on the palate. Thanks to its well-balanced acidity, Mukuzani caresses the palate with a pleasing mouthfeel, without sacrificing juicy liveliness. The finish of this red wine from the Kakheti wine-growing region, which has good aging potential, ultimately convinces with a remarkable length. The aftertaste is also accompanied by mineral facets imparted by the volcanic rock and black earth that dominate the soils.

Vinification of Mukuzani by Winery Chateau Nekresi

The basis for the well-balanced Mukuzani from Georgia is grapes of the Saperavi variety. In Kakheti, the vines that yield the grapes for this wine grow on soils of volcanic rock and black earth. After the grape harvest, the grapes are brought to the winery as quickly as possible. There they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After it is complete, the Mukuzani can continue to harmonize on the fine lees for several months.

Food recommendation for Mukuzani by Winery Chateau Nekresi

This red wine from Georgia is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15–18°C. It is perfectly suited as an accompanying wine to duck breast with sugar snap peas, fried calf’s liver with apples, onions and balsamic sauce, or lamb ragout with chickpeas and dried figs.
