More information about Nuits Saint Georges AOC - Domaine des Perdrix
With Domaine des Perdrix Nuits Saint Georges comes a first-class red wine in the glass. In this it presents a wonderfully bright, light red color. If you swirl the glass, you can perceive a first-class balance in this red wine, because it does not stand out watery or syrupy or liqueur-like on the walls of the glass. Poured into a Burgundy goblet, this Old World red wine presents wonderfully expressive aromas of black cherry, black currant, plum and morello cherry, rounded out by other fruity nuances contributed by barrel aging.
The Domaine des Perdrix Nuits Saint Georges presents itself to the wine lover wonderfully dry. This red wine is never coarse or meager, but round and smooth. On the tongue, this balanced red wine is characterized by an incredibly silky texture. In the finish, this red wine from the wine-growing region of Burgundy finally inspires with considerable length. Once again, hints of morello cherry and lavender appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the soils dominated by clay and limestone are added.
Vinification of the Nuits Saint Georges from Domaine des Perdrix
This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, and that is Pinot Noir. Only impeccable grapes were used for this exceptionally balanced single-varietal wine from Domaine des Perdrix. The grapes grow in optimal conditions in Burgundy. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of limestone, clay and marl. Nuits Saint Georges is an Old World wine through and through, as this Frenchman breathes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. When perfect physiological ripeness is assured, the grapes for Nuits Saint Georges are harvested exclusively by hand without the aid of crude and less selective grape harvesters. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly transferred to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks and small wood at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging for several months on the fine lees before the wine is finally bottled.
