More information about Pommard - Domaine Virely Rougeot

The Pommard from the Burgundy wine-growing region presents itself in the glass in a dense light red. The first nose of the Pommard offers nuances of sour cherries. More fruity-balsamic nuances join the fruity components of the bouquet.

The Domaine Virely Rougeot Pommard presents itself to the wine lover as wonderfully dry. This red wine never appears coarse or lean, but rather round and smooth. Powerful and multi-faceted, this meaty and silky red wine shows on the palate. The finish of this red wine from the Burgundy wine-growing region, more precisely from Chablis & Grand Auxerrois, finally impresses with a beautiful aftertaste.

Vinification of Domaine Virely Rougeot Pommard

The basis for the powerful Pommard from Burgundy is grapes of the Pinot Noir variety. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly brought to the press house. There they are selected and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by maturation on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally bottled.

Food recommendation for the Pommard from Domaine Virely Rougeot

Drink this red wine from France best at a temperature of 15–18°C as an accompanying wine with braised chicken in red wine, stuffed peppers, or lamb ragout with chickpeas and dried figs.
