More information about Portrait Cabernet Sauvignon Barossa Valley - Peter Lehmann
The powerful Portrait Cabernet Sauvignon Barossa Valley from the house of Peter Lehmann shimmers into the glass with a dense purple color. This single varietal Australian wine presents wonderfully complex notes of blueberries, blackberries, black currants and mulberries in the glass. These are joined by hints of gingerbread spice, toasted barrel and black tea.
On the palate, Peter Lehmann's Portrait Cabernet Sauvignon Barossa Valley starts wonderfully aromatic, fruit-driven and balanced. Some wines are dry on the label, others really are. This red wine belongs to the second group, as it was bottled with only 0.5 grams of residual sugar. On the tongue, this punchy red wine is characterized by an immensely velvety texture. Due to its vital fruit acidity, the Portrait Cabernet Sauvignon Barossa Valley reveals itself impressively fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this good storable from the wine-growing region of South Australia finally inspires with considerable length. Once again, hints of black currant and blackberry show.
Vinification of the Peter Lehmann Portrait Cabernet Sauvignon Barossa Valley
This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, Cabernet Sauvignon. Only the best grapes were used for this wonderfully powerful single-varietal wine from Peter Lehmann. After the grape harvest, the grapes reach the press house as quickly as possible. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Then fermentation takes place in small wood at controlled temperatures. After fermentation is complete, the Portrait Cabernet Sauvignon Barossa Valley is aged for another 15 months in French and American oak barrels.
