More information about Shiraz Cabernet - Rawson's Retreat
The Shiraz Cabernet of Rawson's Retreat from South Australia offers a bright, purple color in the wine glass. The first nose of the Shiraz Cabernet reveals nuances of blackcurrants, mulberries and blackberries. The fruity components of the bouquet are joined by notes of barrel aging such as Mediterranean herbs, lovage and bitter chocolate.
This Australian wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. As you would naturally expect from a wine in the upper price range, this Australian naturally enraptures with the finest balance despite all its dryness. Aroma does not necessarily need residual sugar. On the tongue, this well-balanced red wine is characterized by a tremendously velvety texture. In the finish, this youthful red wine from the wine-growing region of South Australia finally inspires with considerable length. There are again hints of black currant and blueberry.
Vinification of the Rawson's Retreat Shiraz Cabernet
The balanced Shiraz Cabernet from Australia is a cuvée, pressed from the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz. After the grape harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Then fermentation takes place in small wood at controlled temperatures. After fermentation is complete, the Shiraz Cabernet is aged for several months in French and American oak barrels.
