More information about Roodeberg Western Cape - KWV
The multiple award-winning Roodeberg Western Cape from the wine-growing region of the Western Cape shows in the glass in dense purple, ruby red. Poured into a red wine glass, this red wine from South Africa reveals wonderfully expressive aromas of mulberry, blueberry, black currant and blackberry, rounded off by oriental spices, dark chocolate and cocoa bean contributed by barrel aging.
The KWV Roodeberg Western Cape presents itself to the wine drinker pleasantly dry. This red wine never appears coarse or meager, as is appropriate for a wine of this reputation. On the palate, the texture of this powerful red wine is wonderfully velvety. Due to its concise fruit acid, the Roodeberg Western Cape is exceptionally fresh and lively on the palate. The final of this youthful red wine from the wine-growing region of the Western Cape, more precisely from the Western Cape, finally captivates with considerable reverberation.
Vinification of the KWV Roodeberg Western Cape
The basis for the first-class and wonderfully powerful cuvée Roodeberg Western Cape from KWV are Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Shiraz and Tannat grapes. After harvesting, the grapes are taken to the press house by the fastest route. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. This is followed by fermentation in small wood at controlled temperatures. At the end of fermentation, the Roodeberg Western Cape is aged for several months in French oak barrels.
