In the glass, the organically produced Saint-Émilion of Château Tour Calon shows a bright purple color. also shows a color transition to garnet red. If you give it some air in the wine glass by swirling, you can perceive a first-class balance in this red wine, because it stands out on the glass walls neither watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like. The bouquet of this red wine from Bordeaux enchants with hints of morello cherry, black cherry, mulberry and blackberry. If we trace the aromatics further, black tea, dark chocolate and vanilla are added.
On the palate, Château Tour Calon's Saint-Émilion opens pleasantly aromatic, fruit-driven and balanced. Some wines are dry on the label, others really are. This red wine is one of the latter, having been vinified with only 0.3 grams of residual sugar. On the tongue, this balanced red wine is characterized by an incredibly dense texture. Due to its present fruit acidity, the Saint-Émilion is fantastically fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this mature red wine from the wine-growing region of Bordeaux finally inspires with considerable length. There are again hints of plum and mulberry.
Vinification of the Saint-Émilion from Château Tour Calon
The basis for the balanced Saint-Émilion from Bordeaux are grapes from the grape varieties Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Without question, the Saint-Émilion is also determined by climate and viticultural style Saint-Emilion. This French wine can be described as an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, which is extraordinarily impressive. After the grape harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks and small wood at controlled temperatures. After the completion of fermentation, the Saint-Émilion is aged for another 12 months in oak barriques.
