More information about Sauvignon Blanc Reserve Marlborough - Lawson's Dry Hills

The elegant Sauvignon Blanc Reserve, crafted by Lawson's Dry Hills, pours into the glass with a bright pale yellow. The bouquet of this white wine from New Zealand's South Island enchants with aromas of lemon and passion fruit. Further exploring the aromatics, notes of minerals and green bell pepper emerge, enhanced by the influence of oak wood.

This New Zealand wine impresses with its straightforward, dry taste profile. It was bottled with 3.6 grams of residual sugar. As one would expect from a wine, this New Zealander captivates with exquisite balance despite its dryness. Aroma does not necessarily require much residual sugar. On the palate, this well-balanced white wine exhibits an incredibly crisp and silky texture. Due to its vibrant fruity acidity, the Sauvignon Blanc Reserve presents itself as exceptionally fresh and lively on the palate. The finish of this white wine from the wine region of New Zealand's South Island, specifically Marlborough, ultimately impresses with a notable aftertaste. The finish is also accompanied by mineral undertones from the predominantly gravelly soils.

Vinification of Lawson's Dry Hills Sauvignon Blanc Reserve

The foundation of this balanced Sauvignon Blanc Reserve from New Zealand's South Island is grapes of the Sauvignon Blanc variety. The grapes grow near the river on New Zealand's South Island. Here, the vines root deeply into gravel soils. The moderating influence of the nearby river causes the grapes to ripen more slowly and develop greater aromatic complexity. The berries for this New Zealand white wine are harvested swiftly and during the coolest parts of the day once optimal ripeness is assured, to preserve their aroma. After harvest, the grapes are quickly transferred to the winery, where they are carefully sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks and large oak barrels at controlled temperatures. The fermentation is followed by several months of aging in French oak barrels.

Food Pairing Recommendations for Lawson's Dry Hills Sauvignon Blanc Reserve

Enjoy this vegan white wine from New Zealand ideally well chilled at 8-10°C as an accompaniment to coconut-lime fish curry, smoked salmon and fennel omelet, or vegetable salad with beetroot.
