More information about Sauvignon Blanc - Spy Valley

The elegant Sauvignon Blanc from Spy Valley’s hand flows into the glass in a radiant light yellow. The bouquet of this white wine from New Zealand’s South Island captivates with aromas of gooseberry, pear and passion fruit. Following the aromatic trail further, nectarine joins in.

The Spy Valley Sauvignon Blanc tastes pleasantly dry. It was bottled with only 1.6 grams of residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine, this New Zealander delights, despite all its dryness, with the finest balance. Aroma does not necessarily need sugar. Balanced and multi-layered, this crisp white wine presents itself on the palate. Thanks to its lively fruit acidity, the Sauvignon Blanc reveals itself on the palate as wonderfully fresh and vibrant. The finish of this white wine from the New Zealand South Island wine-growing region, more precisely from Marlborough, ultimately thrills with a remarkable length. The aftertaste is also accompanied by mineral nuances from the clay- and gravel-dominated soils.

Vinification of the Sauvignon Blanc from Spy Valley

This well-balanced white wine from New Zealand is vinified from the Sauvignon Blanc grape variety. On New Zealand’s South Island, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on clay and gravel soils. Once perfect physiological ripeness is ensured, the grapes for the Sauvignon Blanc are harvested particularly quickly and at the coolest possible time of day to preserve their aromas. After harvesting, the grapes are swiftly brought to the winery, where they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After it has finished, the Sauvignon Blanc can continue to harmonize for several months on the fine lees.

Food recommendation for Spy Valley Sauvignon Blanc

Enjoy this white wine from New Zealand best well-chilled at 8–10°C as an accompaniment to spaghetti with yogurt-mint pesto, asparagus salad with quinoa, or coconut-lime fish curry.
