Schug Winery's Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast glows a ruby red with garnet highlights in the glass.
The expressive aromas are reminiscent of juicy cherries, ripe strawberries with hints of spice. Due to the aging in wood, the palate enjoys varietal notes with subtle wood tones. The tannin structure is perfectly integrated into the velvety texture. The finish of this red wine is wonderfully long and balanced.
Vinifcation of the Schug Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast
This red wine is vinified in the style of a Villages from Burgundy.
After hand harvesting Pinot Noir grapes from the Carneros, Sonoma County, North Coast, Mendocino County and North Coast growing regions, grapes are gently pressed. The mash is then fermented in stainless steel tanks. For subtle wood tones and tannins, this red wine is aged in large French oak barrels.
Food pairing for the Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir from Schug Winery
This dry red wine is the perfect food companion to mushroom dishes with spaetzle, pork medallions wrapped in bacon and beans, or sauerbraten with dumplings and blue cabbage.
