More information about Pinot Noir Estate Grown - Schug Winery

The Pinot Noir Estate Grown from Schug Winery belongs to Schug’s Heritage Reserve wines – only the wines of a vintage with exceptional complexity and very long aging potential are included.

In the glass, this varietal red wine presents itself in dense purple with violet reflections. The intense bouquet exudes powerful aromas of ripe cherries, rose petals and a hint of cherry liqueur. The palate is pampered by expressive notes of black cherries and cranberry, underpinned by hints of lavender and a touch of spice and tobacco. The body of this red wine impresses with a complex structure and perfectly integrated tannins. The finish is wonderfully balanced, rounded and memorably long.

Vinification of Schug Pinot Noir Estate Grown

After very careful hand-picking of the Pinot Noir grapes, they are immediately brought to the winery. There, the harvested fruit is strictly selected and only the best grapes are used for this red wine. The must is then fermented in stainless steel tanks. The wonderful nuances of spice and tobacco and the perfect tannin structure are provided by maturation in wood. This wine is aged exclusively in the finest barriques made from French oak. The barrel aging lasts at least 16 months.

Food recommendation for the Estate Grown Pinot Noir from Schug

Enjoy this dry red wine from California on very special festive occasions – it is the perfect choice especially for dishes with duck breast or lamb.
