Vinification of Niepoort Struwwelpeter Branco
This well-balanced white wine from Portugal is cuvéeed from the grape varieties Bical, Encruzado, Rabigato, and Sercial. In Beiras, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on granite soils. When perfect physiological ripeness is ensured, the grapes for Struwwelpeter Branco are harvested exclusively by hand, without the use of strenuous and barely selective machines. After harvesting, the grapes are brought to the winery immediately. There they are selected and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After it is complete, Struwwelpeter Branco can continue to harmonize for a few months on the fine lees.
