More information about Summa Varietalis Tinto DO - Marques de Grinon

Marques de Grinon's Summa Varietalis Tinto is a wonderful red wine blend of Syrah (50%), Petit Verdot (30%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (20%).

As Grande de España, owner of the winery Carlos Falcó belongs to the highest category of Spanish aristocracy. Xandra Falcó is the daughter of the Marqués de Griñon and succeeds him. The first wine she created is Summa Varietalis and it presents itself as one would imagine a beautiful aristocratic daughter to be: charming, modern, smart and with a touch of flamboyance, all in all a very feminine type of wine.

In the glass, this wine glows a rich cherry red with purple highlights. The floral bouquet is dominated by intense aromas of violets. This is joined by notes of ripe berries as well as delicate toasty nuances and a subtle hint of chocolate. On the palate, this Spanish red wine is fruity with a fleshy texture that harmonizes perfectly with the soft and well-integrated tannins. The finish awaits with a pleasant length.

Vinification of the Marques de Grinon Summa Varietalis

Produced on 13-year-old vines in the Spanish wine region D.O. Dominio de Valdepusa on stony limestone soils grow the grapes for this elegant red wine.

The harvest, exclusively by hand, takes place between mid-September and mid-October. After arriving at the winery, the grapes are pressed and then fermented in stainless steel tanks under temperature control. This wine is then aged for 12 months in French oak barrels.

Food recommendation for the Summa Varietalis Marques de Grinon

This dry red wine from Spain is a wonderfully round and elegant wine, made in a modern way, a palate pleaser and excellent soloist. However, this wine also drinks very well with game, grilled meats and cheeses.
