More information about Anderra Merlot - Baron Philippe de Rothschild

In the glass, the Anderra Merlot from the house of Baron Philippe de Rothschild shows a bright purple color. Poured into a red wine glass, this red wine from Chile shows wonderfully expressive aromas of blueberry, blackcurrant, mulberry and blackberry, rounded off by brown bread, firewood and smoked meat, which the aging in wooden barrels contributes.

The Baron Philippe de Rothschild Anderra Merlot delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. As you would naturally expect from a wine beyond the 4-euro mark, this Chilean naturally enraptures with the finest balance despite all its dryness. Taste does not necessarily need sugar. The finale of this youthful red wine from the wine-growing region of Valle Central finally convinces with considerable reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral notes of the soils dominated by clay.

Vinification of the Anderra Merlot from Baron Philippe de Rothschild

The balanced Anderra Merlot from Chile is a single varietal wine, vinified from the Merlot grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in the Valle Central. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of clay. After the grape harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks and small wood at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging for several months on the fine lees before the wine is finally drawn off.

Food recommendation for the Baron Philippe de Rothschild Anderra Merlot

This red wine from Chile is best enjoyed at a temperate 15 - 18°C. It is perfect as an accompanying wine to Boeuf Bourguignon, goose breast with gingered red cabbage and marjoram or veal escalope with beans and tomatoes.
