The barrel-aged Anderra Carmenère from the Valle Central wine-growing region reveals itself in the glass in bright purple. This single-varietal Chilean wine shows wonderfully expressive notes of plums, black currants, blueberries and mulberries in the glass. These are joined by hints of vanilla, oriental spices and black tea.
On the palate, Philippe de Rothschild's Anderra Carmenère starts pleasantly aromatic, fruit-driven and balanced. There are dry and really dry. This red wine belongs to the latter, as it was vinified with only 2.4 grams of residual sugar. On the tongue, this balanced red wine is characterized by an incredibly dense, velvety and fleshy texture. Due to its vital fruit acidity, the Anderra Carmenère reveals itself impressively fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this youthful from the wine-growing region Valle Central finally inspires with good length. There are again hints of blueberry and black currant. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the clay-dominated soils join in.
Vinification of the Philippe de Rothschild Anderra Carmenère
The basis for the balanced Anderra Carmenère from Valle Central are grapes from the Carmenère grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in the Valle Central. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of clay. After the hand harvest, the grapes arrive quickly at the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks and small wood at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging for several months in oak barrels.
