The barrel-aged Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve from the Coastal winegrowing region offers itself in the glass in dense purple, ruby red. With a bit of lateral position, the Bordeaux glass reveals a charming garnet red tone at the edges. Giving it some air in the wine glass by swirling, this red wine reveals a high viscosity, evident in distinct church windows at the rim of the glass. The basis for the first-class and wonderfully powerful cuvée Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve from Vergelegen are Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot grapes. After hand harvesting, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation follows in small wood at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by 24 months of aging in French barrels.
