More information about Cahors Malbec AOP - Lionel Osmin & Cie

With the Lionel Osmin & Cie Cahors Malbec comes a first-class red wine in the swirled glass. Here it reveals a wonderfully brilliant purple color. The bouquet of this red wine from Sud Ouest enchants with notes of blackcurrant, blackberry, blueberry and mulberry. If we trace the aromatics further, firewood, cocoa bean and oriental spices come in.

This red from Lionel Osmin & Cie is the right wine for all wine drinkers who like it dry. However, it is never dry or brittle, as one would expect from a wine in the high quality range. On the tongue, this light-footed red wine is characterized by an incredibly dense texture. With its lively fruit acidity, the Cahors Malbec presents itself impressively fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this good storable red wine from the Sud-Ouest wine-growing region finally inspires with beautiful length. Again, hints of blackberry and mulberry show. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the limestone-dominated soils join in.

Vinification of the Lionel Osmin & Cie Cahors Malbec

This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, Malbec. Only impeccable grape material was harvested for this wonderfully elegant single varietal wine from Lionel Osmin & Cie. In Sud Ouest, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of limestone. Due to the moderating influence of the nearby sea, the grapes ripen more slowly and develop more aromatic complexity. After the manual harvest, the grapes arrive at the winery by the fastest route. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed.

Food recommendation for the Cahors Malbec by Lionel Osmin & Cie

This French wine is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15 - 18°C. It is perfect to accompany roasted calf's liver with apples, onions and balsamic vinegar sauce, goose breast with gingered red cabbage and marjoram or ossobuco.
