The Cape of Good Hope Serruria Chardonnay, matured in barrel and hailing from the Western Cape wine-growing region, presents itself in the glass in a radiant golden yellow. On the nose this Anthonij Rupert Wyne white wine reveals all sorts of oranges. As if that were not already impressive, the maturation in large wooden casks also adds lemon and toasted wood.

This white wine belongs to the second group, as it was vinified with only 2 g of residual sugar. On the tongue, this well-balanced white wine is characterized by an immensely creamy texture. On the finish, this youthful white wine from the Western Cape wine-growing region finally delights with remarkable length. Once again, nuances of orange appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes from the slate-dominated soils join in.

Vinification of the Anthonij Rupert Wyne Cape of Good Hope Serruria Chardonnay

This wine clearly focuses on a single grape variety, namely Chardonnay. For this wonderfully balanced varietal wine from Anthonij Rupert Wyne, only the best grape material was used. In the Western Cape, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on slate soils. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. There they are selected and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks and large wooden casks at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by maturation for 11 months in oak barrels.
