More information about Catena Cabernet Sauvignon - Catena Zapata
The Catena Cabernet Sauvignon from Catena Zapata is a varietal, characterful and smooth red wine from the Mendoza wine region of Argentina.
This wine appears a bright ruby red in the glass. The nose presents aromas of intense cassis fruit as well as spicy, peppery notes. On the palate, opulent aromas of cassis and dark wild berries again, underpinned with nuances of eucalyptus. Fine spicy aromas of vanilla and cedar with filigree minerality complement the fruit flavors. Fine-grained and sweet tannins underscore the complex body and are very well integrated into this Argentine red wine. The finish awaits with a pleasant length.
Vinification of the Catena Zapata Cabernet Sauvignon
Once the hand-picked harvest arrives at the winery, the grapes are first subjected to cold maceration for 3 days. Then fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks for a total of 20 days - secondary fermentation is 20 to 23 days. Finally, this red wine is aged in French oak barrels for 12 to 14 months.
