More information about Die rote Versuchung - Weingut Krug

The Red Temptation from the Krug Estate in Lower Austria presents a dense, bright red color in a swirled glass. When given some air by swirling, this red wine reveals a high density and richness, evident at the edges of the glass like church windows. Poured into a Bordeaux glass, this wine from the Old World reveals wonderfully expressive aromas of blueberries, mulberries, black currants, and blackberries, rounded off by oriental spices, cinnamon, and cocoa beans contributed by aging in barrels.

The Krug Estate The Red Temptation delights with its elegantly dry flavor profile. It was bottled with an exceptionally low residual sugar content. As expected for a top-tier wine, this Austrian wine, despite its dryness, impresses with a fine balance. Aroma does not necessarily require a lot of residual sugar. The finish of this youthful red wine from the Niederösterreich wine region, specifically from the Thermenregion, ultimately convinces with a lovely aftertaste.

Winemaking of the Krug Estate The Red Temptation

The foundation for the powerful The Red Temptation from Lower Austria is made from grapes of the varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Zweigelt. Clearly, the unique climate and winegrowing style of the Thermenregion also influence this wine. This Austrian wine can literally be called a wine of the Old World, presenting itself extraordinarily impressively. The ripening of the harvest for this wine, made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Zweigelt, is significantly affected by the climate of the cultivation region. In Lower Austria, the grapes thrive in a rather cool climate, which is reflected in particularly long and uniform grapes and a more moderate must weight. After manual harvesting, the grapes are quickly transported to the winery. Here, they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then occurs in large wooden tanks at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, The Red Temptation is aged for several months in French oak barrels.
