More information about Domaine des Grands Chemins Crozes-Hermitage AOC - Delas Frères

The barrel-aged Domaine des Grands Chemins Crozes-Hermitage from the Rhône Valley wine region offers a bright purple color in the glass. If you hold the glass at an angle, you can see a transition of the wine color towards garnet red at the edges of this barrel-aged wine. If you give it some air by swirling, you can perceive a perfect balance in this red wine, as it does not stand out on the walls of the glass watery or syrupy or liqueur-like. To the nose, this Delas Frères red wine shows all sorts of wild berry jam, plum, Mon Cheri cherry, lavender and rum pot. As if that wasn't already impressive, black tea, vanilla and beech smoke join in due to the aging in small wooden barrels.

This dry red wine from Delas Frères is something for wine drinkers who prefer to drink bone dry. The Domaine des Grands Chemins Crozes-Hermitage already comes very close to this, as it was vinified with just 1.5 grams of residual sugar. Balanced and complex, this silky red wine presents itself on the palate. Due to the balanced fruit acidity, the Domaine des Grands Chemins Crozes-Hermitage flatters the palate with a soft feeling, without lacking juicy liveliness. The final of this red wine from the Rhône Valley wine-growing region finally thrills with considerable reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral hints of the gravel-dominated soils.

Vinification of the Delas Frères Domaine des Grands Chemins Crozes-Hermitage

This red wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, and that is Syrah. Only premium grape material was harvested for this wonderfully balanced single varietal wine from Delas Frères. The grapes grow close to the river in the Rhône Valley. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of gravel. Due to the mitigating influence of the nearbyriver, the grapes ripen more slowly and more aromatic partiality. After the grape harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation follows in small wood at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, Domaine des Grands Chemins Crozes-Hermitage is aged for another 14 months in oak barrels.
