More information about Garrafeira - Niepoort
The Garrafeira from the Douro & Porto wine-growing region presents itself in the glass in dense purple red. On the nose, this Niepoort fortified wine reveals all kinds of plums. As if that were not already impressive, further aromas such as toasted wood and chocolate are added thanks to maturation in stainless steel.
The Garrafeira can rightly be described as exceptionally fruit-driven and velvety, as it was vinified with a pleasantly sweet flavor profile. On the palate, this powerful port wine is characterized by an incredibly velvety texture. Thanks to its distinctive fruit acidity, the Garrafeira appears wonderfully fresh and lively on the palate. On the finish, this fortified wine from the Douro & Porto region finally delights with considerable length. Once again, nuances of plum appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes from the slate-dominated soils are added.
