The basis for the powerful Gigondas Pierre Aiguille from the Rhône Valley is grapes of the Grenache and Syrah varieties. It is obvious that Gigondas Pierre Aiguille is influenced by more than just the Gigondas terroir. This French wine can, in the best sense of the word, be described as an Old World wine that presents itself in an exceptionally impressive manner. After hand-picking, the grapes are quickly brought to the winery. There, they are selected and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in small oak barrels at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by several months of aging on the fine lees before the wine is finally bottled.
